WHY LIVESTRONG?

All people have unique stories to tell of someone who has made a lasting impression on their lives.

This impression may be one that completely altered us in some way, an impression that shaped us into who we are today . .

This is our story; a story of how Project London p/b Land Rover Select CPO was started by a simple act of kindness from Lance Armstrong and how we give back to the community and to LIVESTRONG.

Cancer is a violent enemy that affects nearly every person. Project London p/b Land Rover Select CPO's team owner, Norrene Godfrey, learned this the hard way as her mother fought and ultimately lost her battle with lung cancer in 2001. Lance Armstrong, who himself achieved victory in a battle against testicular cancer before winning the Tour de France seven times, reached out to Norrene’s mother despite his hectic schedule and took the time to personally make a difference in Norrene’s mother’s life. Lance sent her one of his Tour de France yellow jerseys autographed with the words “Fight Mom” in big letters, thus encouraging her to persevere.

In order to repay Lance for his kindness and “pay-it-forward,”
Project London p/b Land Rover Select CPO's was formed and now rides in support of LIVESTRONG and the fight against cancer.
Each year the team sets a goal, to raise funds and awareness of LIVESTRONG and to send cancer survivors to the LIVESTRONG Challenge in the hopes that they will find a connection with other survivors. Our goal is to raise $5,000 this year, if you would like to donate or join our LIVESTRONG Challenge Austin team, please click here , we would LOVE to have you onboard the YELLOW and BLACK train.
